Rory Moore
Rory Moore is a PhD researcher at Maynooth University and a member of the Co-Centre for Climate + Biodiversity + Water. His research focuses on the human dimensions of climate change, particularly the impacts on coastal communities.
As part of the RECLAIM: Resilience and Wellbeing through Adaptation to Place Loss project, Rory investigates how coastal erosion and sea-level rise affect people’s connections to place, identity, and wellbeing. His work combines climate science, geography, and environmental psychology to understand the emotional and cultural impacts of losing valued landscapes, and to explore how communities adapt to these changes.
Rory collaborates closely with residents and policymakers in Wexford, one of Ireland’s most erosion-prone counties. Using community-based monitoring, wellbeing surveys, walking interviews, and story mapping, he examines the social and psychological effects of environmental change and identifies strategies for coping and resilience.
Through his work at the Climate+ Co-Centre, Rory aims to support climate resilience, protect community wellbeing, and provide insights that inform policy and empower those most affected by environmental change.
